Chaitanya Shravanthi – a nonprofit organization is started by Sri.V.B.Mani in 1985 with the support of Barefoot College. It was named as SWRC-Gudem previously.
Chaintanya Shravanthi focused on Education, Agriculture, Water (drinking & Irrigation), Skill Development and Livelihood Management. Chaitanya shravanthi have done remarkable works in tribal area with the support of Barefoot College, Government and Private Donor agencies. The founder of Chaitanya Shravanthi , Sri V.B.Mani garu passed away in 1994 due to Brain Tumor at early age. She was 34 at that time. Chaitanya Shravanthi has constructed 60 check dams with help of German Agro Action till 2008. After that Chaitanya Shravanthi has been shifted to Visakhapatnam with another team.
Sri V.C.Aliveni D/o Late Sri.V.B.Mai came to this area in 2013 and started a community based organization to continue the services with the inspiration of her mother. People suggested naming this organization as Mani Amma Chaitanya Shravanthi (MACS). The organization was registered in 2014.
